Blocked drains, toilets, sinks and gullies cleared

Toilet will not flush, the gully is overflowing, or the kitchen sink is full of grey water. We get it flowing and explain what blocked it.

Sewage coming up inside? Stop flushing and stop running water in the house, then call. Somebody answers around the clock.

A blockage rarely appears out of nowhere. Kitchen drains choke slowly on fat and food scraps. Toilets block on wet wipes and too much paper. Outside, the gully fills with leaves and sand, and on older properties tree roots work their way into the joints of the sewer line. Eventually the water just sits there.

We clear blocked drains, gullies, toilets, sinks and basins, and we also fix the leaking toilets and dripping taps that waste water every day. When we clear a drain, we tell you where the blockage was and what caused it, so you know whether it is a once-off or likely to come back.

What people call us about

  • Blocked toilet

Cleared without making a mess of the bathroom.

  • Overflowing gully

The outside drain backing up, usually from leaves, sand or a deeper blockage in the line.

  • Slow kitchen sink

Fat and food built up in the pipe, cleared before it blocks completely.

  • Blocked basin or shower

Hair and soap in the trap and pipe, cleared and flowing again.

  • Leaking toilet or tap

A cistern that never stops filling or a dripping tap, fixed so you stop paying for water you are not using.

How we clear a blockage

  1. 1

We ask which drains are slow or blocked. If more than one fitting is backing up, the problem is usually further down the main line.

  2. 2

We find the nearest access point, like a gully, rodding eye or manhole, and clear the blockage from there.

  3. 3

We run water through afterwards to make sure it is flowing properly, not just well enough to look fine.

  4. 4

We tell you what we found and whether something like roots or a broken pipe needs further work.

Questions people ask

Why does my gully keep overflowing?

Either the gully itself is full of debris or the line after it is blocked. If it keeps coming back, there may be roots or a damaged pipe further down.

Will a bottle of drain cleaner sort it out?

On a slow sink it sometimes helps. On a full blockage it mostly just sits in the pipe, and it can be harsh on older plumbing. If the water is not going down at all, phone us.

Can you come out at night for a blocked toilet?

Yes. Somebody picks up at any hour, and there is no call out fee.

What should not go down the toilet?

Only toilet paper should. Wet wipes, even the ones sold as flushable, sanitary products and paper towel are the usual causes of blocked toilets and sewer lines.
