Stove and oven repairs, installs and geyser timers
Oven not heating, a plate that stays cold, or a new stove that needs connecting. We repair and install them safely.
A stove is one of the biggest loads in the house, and it is wired straight into its own circuit. That is why we do not recommend connecting a new one yourself, and why a stove that trips the power deserves a proper look rather than another reset.
Most oven and stove faults come down to a handful of parts: an element that has burnt out, a thermostat that no longer reads properly, a worn switch, or a connection at the back that has worked loose and overheated. We find which one it is and replace it. We also fit geyser timers, which let you choose when the geyser heats instead of leaving it on all day.
What people call us about
Oven not heating
Usually an element or the thermostat. We test both and replace the part that has failed.
A stove plate not working
Either the plate or its switch. We find out which and replace it.
New stove installation
Freestanding stoves, built-in ovens and hobs connected to the right circuit and tested.
Stove trips the power
Often an element leaking to earth. We find it before it does more damage.
Geyser timer installation
A timer on the geyser so it heats when you need it, not around the clock.
How we handle appliance repairs
- 1
Tell us the make of the stove or oven and what it is doing. A photo of the rating label helps us bring the right parts.
- 2
We isolate the circuit before opening anything, then test the elements, thermostat and switches.
- 3
We quote you for the part and the work. If the appliance is not worth repairing, we will tell you.
- 4
After the repair we switch on, check that it heats properly and make sure nothing is tripping.
Questions people ask
Is it worth repairing an old stove?
Often it is. Elements and thermostats are replaceable parts. If the stove is very old or parts are hard to find, we will say so before you spend money on it.
Can I plug a new stove in myself?
Most stoves are hard-wired to their own circuit rather than plugged in. It should be connected by an electrician so the circuit and cable suit it.
What does a geyser timer do?
It switches the geyser on and off at set times, so it heats water when you need it instead of keeping it hot all day.
Do you repair other appliances?
We do stoves, ovens, elements and thermostats, as well as air conditioning and refrigeration repairs. For anything else, phone and ask.
